Client Brief: Groupe SEB Group is a consulting firm specializing in nondestructive and destructive testing, and welding metallurgy. They wanted to create an innovative office with adequate display and storage spaces, design that maximized natural light and had a nature friendly ambience. They also wanted workspaces flexible enough to accommodate both a small and a large workgroup with multiple uses.
Discover | Design | Deliver: This office is based in DAFZA with only one façade facing the corridor. We transitioned narrow corridors from a traditional look to a product showcase. That served a dual purpose – it made for an interesting journey for employees going to their workstations and gave everyone an insight into the company’s products. We created open, yet cleverly private workspaces that achieved both: cut down barriers between people and management, yet gave people quieter spaces for focused work. We created social and collaborative meeting pods with a glass wall (white back-painted) for brainstorming ideas, and acoustic cladding. Window ledge seating created social spaces and relaxing coffee areas. We built concealed storage spaces in unused, open areas and in niche corners. The employee coffee break area had a clean, minimalistic feel with greenery, and was designed to be relaxing and refreshing with a great aesthetic feel.
